Student Ministry

Campus Ministry Core Team

Campus Ministry offers an assortment of leadership possibilities for students who feel called to live out their faith through ministry to the Assumption Community. The Campus Ministry Core Team consists of students who assist Campus Ministers in the facilitation of programming throughout the academic year. The Core Team works in collaboration with one another and creates a safe space for students to process their faith experiences. The Core Team meets regularly with the campus ministers, assists with organizing meetings and facilitates various spiritual development programming throughout campus.

Retreat teams

One meaningful way for a student to become a leader in Campus Ministry is to become a team leader for one of the student-led retreats. Opportunities to lead are offered to those who have already participated in the START 1 and START 2 Retreats. For further information on becoming a retreat team member, please contact Stephanie McCaffrey.

Retreats Serving the Worcester Diocese

SEARCH Retreats (Students Encountering and Responding to CHrist) give Assumption students the opportunity to offer retreats to high school students in the Worcester diocese, many of whom are preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. SEARCH volunteers have provided retreats to:

  • St. Anne/St. Patrick in Sturbridge
  • St. Denis parish in Ashburnham
  • St. Edward the Confessor parish in Westminster
  • St. Luke's parish in Westborough
  • St. Rose of Lima parish in Northborough

Some retreats take place at Assumption while others take place at individual parishes. SEARCH provides interested students a chance to share their faith and making a meaningful difference in the lives of high school students. Parishes that would like to inquire about the possibility of having SEARCH provide a retreat for their Confirmation class may contact Stephanie McCaffrey at 508-767-7476.
