Assumption College Alumni
Association awards are explained below, with a listing of
the past recipients. These awards are:
Jack
L. Bresciani '72 Outstanding Alumnus/Alumna Award (1994)
All
members in good standing of the Assumption College Alumni/Alumnae
Association as defined in the Constitution, and whose classes
shall have been graduated at least 10 years prior thereto
shall be eligible for the Award.
The
Award shall be given in recognition of continued enthusiastic
service and devotion to the advancement of the Alumni/Alumnae
Association; untiring, loyal, outstanding, and unselfish efforts
in fostering the ideals, spirit, traditions and growth of
Assumption College; and for distinguished achievement.
Not more than one such Award shall be presented
in any given year, nor is it obligatory that any member must
be selected annually. This award is usually presented at Reunion
Weekend in June.

Honorary
Alumnus/Alumna Award
Any
member of the general public. Those persons defined in Article
IV, Section 3, sub-section a. and b. of the Constitution shall,
by virtue of their inclusion in those categories, be deemed
Honorary Alumni/ Alumnae, and so long as they shall occupy
said position shall be ineligible for consideration by this
Committee.
Honorary Membership in the Association shall
be conferred in recognition of outstanding devotion and generosity
to Assumption College or the Association.
No more than one new member (or one couple, e.g. husband and
wife) may be selected in any one calendar year nor is it obligatory
that any member must be selected annually. This award is usually
presented at Reunion Weekend in June.

Louis Dion, A.A. '35 Outstanding Achievement Award
All
members in good standing of the Assumption College Alumni/Alumnae
Association as defined in the Constitution, and whose classes
shall have been graduated at least 10 years prior thereto
shall be eligible for the Award.
The
Outstanding Achievement Award is given to an Alumnus/Alumna
who has demonstrated exceptional achievement in his/her chosen
field or interest. Qualifications sought in candidates include,
but are not limited to: outstanding leadership skills, community
service, business acumen, preeminence in teaching or research,
and or entrpreneurship.
More
than one such Award may be presented in any given year. It
is not obligatory that any member must be selected annually.
The president of the College and the Alumni Association present
this award during an alumni activity, not necessarily Reunion
Weekend.

Alumni/Athletic
Hall of Fame Award
Eligibility
or membership in the Athletic Hall of Fame shall not begin
until five years after the class of which the person was a
member is graduated from Assumption.
Eligibility shall be based primarily on the athletic prowess
of the individual. However, anyone who has made an outstanding
contribution to Assumption athletics in any capacity, shall
be eligible.
a.
Selection shall be made on the basis of playing ability, integrity,
sportsmanship, character and the athlete's contribution to
the team or teams on which he/she played, and to Assumption
College in general.
b.
Selection should not be based on one athletic event or any
spectacular play.
c.
Selection should not be made on the basis of sentiment or
popularity in order to protect the validity and exclusiveness
of the Hall of Fame.
This
award is presented in the fall at Homecoming/Family Weekend.
