Frank Mullen HA97

Frank received the College’s Honorary Alumnus Award in 1997 for his enthusiasm for Assumption College athletics. In 1958, Frank did the first radio broadcast of an Assumption nen’s basketball game and quickly became known as the “voice of the Greyhounds.” His radio broadcast bonded Assumption fans through Worcester and Massachusetts and his play-by-play created a positive image of the typical student athlete at the College. Frank would announce the games and mention the importance of an Assumption education. He broadcasted 508 basketball games for the College until 1982. During his time at the school, he became a counselor and supporter of Assumption student/athletes.
