Claude Dufault ’52

Claude received the College’s Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1993 for his outstanding service to Assumption College. He was a former Alumni Association president and served as a class agent. Claude was one of the originators of the Dollars for Scholars Ball, a long-time fundraiser for the College, and served as chairman of this event in 1973. He was the director of development and public relations for Assumption Prep (1965-66). Claude was the founder of Newtel Associates, which earned nine national awards for its work in public relations and development for non-profit organizations. Newtel Associates directed the French Institute’s first campaign. Then, he continued to serve the French Institute as a member of the board until 1994. He passed away in 1998. The Dufault family is synonymous with Assumption, as numerous family members are alumni. See Dufault family article.
