Father Edgar received the College’s Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1991 for his work at Assumption Prep and the College, as well as his work with the Catholic Church. At Assumption Prep, Father Edgar taught English, French, religion and study habits before becoming dean of studies (1952-62) and headmaster of the school (1952-67). He was a member of the College's Board of Trustees (1968-83) and served as director of formation (1967-75) in Brookline, MA and provincial of New York City (1975-81). Father Edgar returned to Assumption as a counselor and professor (1981-85). He became the local superior of the Assumptionists on Old English Road (1982-85) and then Emmanuel House (1985-90). During this time he also taught at the College on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He was awarded an honorary degree from Assumption in 1992 and passed away in 1995.
