Father Mathew in Boston

On Thursday of last week, Father Mathew and the children of Boston had a great time on the Common. Addresses were made by him,--by Deacon Grant,--by Mr. G.W. Bungay, and by some others. Songs were sung by the assembled hosts of the Cold Water Army,--and the pure crystal waters of the great Central Fountain, went up beautifully high towards heaven, in joyous unison with the sentiments and moving scenery of the occasion. Many took the pledge, and the good "Father" bade the surrounding multitude of his cold water children farewell for a season, to go hence, and dispense the blessings of his humane and noble mission to other expecting and impatient thousands, in other parts of the State.
