Applying to Assumption as an International Student

Thank you for your interest in Assumption College!  Assumption is pleased to receive applications from qualified international students.  A candidate for first year student admission should follow the procedure outlined below.


Please submit the following:

  • Common Application and Assumption College Supplement
  • A personal statement or essay (part of the Common Application)
  • Official Educational Records from secondary schools
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Scores. 
  • Assumption College requires SAT or ACT scores if your language or language of instruction is English.
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor
  • Bank statement which must be officially certified or notarized indicating that the candidate has sufficient funds to study at Assumption College.  Cost of attendance is estimated at $44, 580.*
  • $50 application fee made payable to Assumption College (You can pay this fee through the Common Application or by wire transfer.)

*International first year applicants who possess strong academic credentials will be considered for merit scholarships up to $15,000 annually.

English Requirements
If English is not your native language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and have the scores sent directly to Assumption College.  Assumption's TOEFL code is 3009.

Assumption College also accepts IELTS and Pearson test scores.  The minimum IELTS score is 6.5 and the minimum score for the Pearson test is 53.
Deadlines
  • Early Action deadline of November 1.  Students who complete their applications by November 1 will receive a non-binding decision shortly after December 15.
  • Early Action II deadline of January 10.  Students who complete their applications by January 10 will receive a non-binding decision shortly after February 15.
  • Regular decision deadline of April 1.  Decisions are made on a rolling basis and normally applicants will receive a decision 4-6 weeks after completing their application.
