The Student Employment program at Assumption provides part-time employment for undergraduate students on or near campus to help pay for incidental expenses during the year. There are two programs as described below:
Federal Work Study: This is a need based federally subsidized program. Students must demonstrate financial need to be awarded this form of assistance.
College Funding: Assumption College provides funding for students that are not eligible for Federal Work Study, so that they can also work.
Unlike other forms of financial aid, Federal Work Study and College Funds are not applied as a credit to student accounts. Students are paid on a weekly basis for hours worked during the prior week.
Rate of Play
Due to limited funding and jobs available, students are allowed to work a maximum of 10 hours per week.
All jobs that are available are listed on the Student Portal under the Finance section. Students will contact the person listed and if hired, fill out a contract and return it to the Student Employment Coordinator for completion of their employment file. Jobs are filled on a first-come, first served basis.
All student workers will submit in person, an I-9 form with documentation and a W-4 for tax purposes before they are eligible to work.
For students interested in other part-time employment, separate of the Assumption College Student Employment Program, our location in Worcester offers students access to a variety of businesses and organizations.
