Dates and Deadlines
First Year Students
January 1
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available. You can find it at
http://www.fafsa.gov, or you can get a paper form from your guidance counselor. (Note: We recommend filing online as it can expedite the process by several weeks.)
February 15
New student deadline date for filing the FAFSA for September 2011 enrollment. It is better to file it earlier than February 15. (Assumption’s Title IV Code for the FAFSA form is 002118.)
February/March
About 3 weeks after you file the FAFSA, you should receive a 4-page form in the mail called a Student Aid Report. This is the processed information from your FAFSA, and you should review it carefully. If any of the information is incorrect, you should correct it in the space provided and return the form for processing.
If you do not receive a Student Aid Report, you can check on its status by dialing (800) 433-3243.
March/April
Financial aid packages for first-year applicants who have submitted the necessary information on time are mailed in March and April.
Returning Students
March 31
Deadline for returning students to file the FAFSA or FAFSA renewal.
May
Financial aid packages for returning students who have submitted the necessary information on time are sent out by the end of May.
Transfer Students
March 31

Note: Transfer students who already have a FAFSA on file with their current college or university should have their FAFSA information sent to Assumption College.
