Assumption students pursuing a degree in English must concentrate in either Literature or Writing & Mass Communications
Students who concentrate in Literature take a minimum of 10 courses in the English department, including writing, literature from a range of historical periods and genres and in an in-depth capstone seminar.
Those concentrating in writing and mass communication take 13 to 14 English courses. If you wish to minor in writing, you must be majoring in a field other than English.
Students who are majoring in other disciplines can minor in English or Writing.
A minor in English includes six courses (18 credits) including literature and writing.
