Academics - Assumption College: LaCasa

La Casa

The Laboratory for Cognitive and Affective Science (LaCasa) was established at Assumption College in 2009 by Professors Sarah Rose Cavanagh, Maria Parmley, and Fang Zhang as a research environment for Assumption psychology faculty and students to work together. The faculty and students examine questions related to the interaction of emotion and cognition using cognitive, affective, and psychophysiological methods.

Undergraduate students in this lab have had research opportunities that are often only available to graduate students in larger institutions. Projects have resulted in students being included on research papers and at professional conference presentations. Undergraduate research is an important skill for students entering the field of psychology.
