Minutes of the Joint Meeting of the Research and Educational Advisory Boards
31 March 2000. This meeting was held on a train while travelling to the restored Woonsocket train depot which is now occupied, by the National Park Service's Corridor Commission offices.

Grant awards 2000

The UTC sponsors two types of research; scientific research and curricular research. View pictures from the 2000 awards presentation ceremony.

Students recognized by WalMart

Mr. Dartagnon Townes, manager of the West Boylston WalMart, presented a $5,000.00 Environmental Grant from the WalMart Foundation to the UTC to support and give special recognition to the Quinsigamond School Curriculum Project.

Career Expo Day

The newly renovated Union Station in Worcester, MA was the site of the first Transportation Career Expo sponsored by the University Transportation Center/Assumption College held on May 25, 2001.

Teachers on a Train

Through the generosity of the Providence and Worcester Railroad, the Worcester Public School Teachers were able to experience a moving inservice day as they traveled by train to Woonsocket, RI.

Ecology Club

The Ecology Club was started at the beginning of the Fall 2000 semester at Assumption College through the efforts of the UTC.

Student of the year

2000 -- Robert Doe

Rob is the first undergraduate student in the nation to receive this prestigious UTC Student of the Year Award with its $1,000.00 prize.

2001-- Ping Tai

The University Transportation Center is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Yuet Ping Tai as this year's recepient of the Student of the Year Award. Ping is our country's first high school student to receive this prestigious recognition.
