The newly renovated Union Station in Worcester, MA was the site
of the first Transportation Career Expo sponsored by the University
Transportation Center/Assumption College held on May 25, 2001. The
day was designed for middle school and high school students and
was also open to the public. 21 exhibitors from different aspects
of transportation careers and opportunities participated in the
event. Over 800 students and adults attended. The students' excitement
as they visited each of the different exhibits both within and outside
of Union Station was contagious as they all enjoyed the day.
This event was held in conjunction with the Tour
de Sol who were on the Worcester Commons with 50 alternative
energy type vehicles.
