II. Review of 4 years
In looking over the four-year strategic plan for the UTC, there are a few
areas I would like to highlight as to the accomplishments of the UTC:
a. In Academia – at both the undergraduate and graduate level, 23
courses in 9 different disciplines were either modified or added to course
offerings with transportation themes as one aspect of the curriculum.
b. Offered a series of lectures with the Center’s theme as the focus
c. Developed theme-based instructional resources for the Education Library
for a total of over 300 resources for teachers and students
d. Offered professors the opportunity to increase the holdings in the
Campus Library that would enhance their courses related to the theme of
the Center. Presently resources number 53 in the library.
e. Awarded 32 grants to educators and environmental organizations for
a total of $171, 490. There were 5 research projects and 27 curriculum
projects.
f. Honored two students of the year for their work with UTC grants. One
– Robert Doe, an Assumption College student and Ping Tai, a Doherty
