Management Structure

Although two advisory boards, one for scientific research and one for educational research, were initially created to reflect the dual nature of our research program, it became clear over the course of our first year that the program benefited from the dialogue across scientific and educational disciplines represented on our boards. At their joint meeting on 6 October 2000, then, the two boards voted to become one. Board membership development continues in order to reflect the Center’s national role and the resources necessary to achieve its mission. Two new members added this year, Commissioner Matthew Amorello of MassHighway and Eric Waldron, MassPort’s director of the Worcester Regional Airport, strengthen the intermodal perspective of the board.
